Virtual Hospital Tours

Did you know that you have a choice in where you can have your baby?

Hull W&C WelcomeFilmed in 2023 our virtual tour videos will give you a chance to visit all of the maternity units in Humber and North Yorkshire and 'meet the staff' from the comfort of your home.

Although, there is not a film for Goole District Hospital this does have a standalone midwifery led unit and you can discuss this option with your community midwife.

You may wish to consider the distance to travel, and what facilities are available for example:  a midwifery led unit with birth pools; a consultant led unit if you wish to have an epidural; a home birth if that’s what suits your family.

It is good to think about this and what matters to you before arranging your booking appointment. Don’t worry if you change your mind as transfer of care is always available.

If you have any further questions you can always ask them on our Ask a Midwife (AAM) social media messaging service. Our AAM midwives will be happy to discuss your options with you.

Neonatal

Please remember that if your baby decides to be born very early you may need to transfer to another hospital that has a more specialist neonatal unit. This will be discussed with you at the time by the midwives and doctors.

Please click on the links below to play the Virtual Tour videos for each of our units.

Maternity Journey Film

The LMNS has designed the Maternity Journey film featuring all staff within our local maternity units to support you in making choices throughout your maternity journey.

You can find out how to contact the hospital, consider where you want to give birth (more detailed information is in our hospital tour videos), learn about antenatal appointments, classes, scans and the choices available to you when giving birth, for pain relief, caesarean section and induction. We also provide information on postnatal care. It is also a lovely way to hear about the experiences of local mums who feature in this film.

We hope you enjoy viewing it as much as we enjoyed making it.
